Benefits of Coaching:

Whether a person is looking to achieve specific goals, invest in personal development or develop a greater sense of overall well-being, coaching can be a great avenue for moving towards their desired reality. It is a powerful method for creating positive change and forward movement, with wide-ranging benefits: 80% of people who receive coaching report increased self-confidence, 73% of coaching clients say that coaching helps them improve their relationships, communication skills (72%), interpersonal skills (71%), work performance (70%), work/life balance (67%), and wellness (63%) [Source: 2009 ICF Global Coaching Study]

Working with a coach can help a person find clarity, brainstorm ideas, make action plans, and increase personal accountability. In fact, a study from the Association for Talent Development found that those who decide on an idea or goal are 25% likely to achieve it, those who make a plan are 50% likely, and those who have regular accountability appointments with a specific person (i.e. a coach) are 95% likely to see their idea or goal become a reality!

What does a coach do?

Coaching is about supporting clients in creating & finding their own answers.

At it’s foundation, coaching is about generating insights and awareness, and then making a plan for taking action on those discoveries. By taking action on their own insights, clients move forward towards their desired reality. The goal is to create wellbeing and fulfillment in all areas of life that are important to the client.

Coaches ask powerful questions, offer reflections and hold clients accountable to themselves to partner with them in a process of growth and forward movement. However, the wisdom of coaching is that lasting change can only come from within, and accordingly, clients are responsible for creating their own results. Only you can create the life you desire, but a coach can support you on that journey!

A note from Holistic Life Coach, Rebekah Baldwin

I believe that coaching is a powerful tool for deepening self-understanding and creating positive change.

In my own life, working with a coach has been incredibly beneficial, helping me to go back to school for a Master's degree in Psychology and make a career change into the mental health field. I've also worked with coaches to deepen and expand my health and spiritual well being, implementing new practices and habits which led to significant improvements in my physical and emotional well-being.  During a challenging period of heartbreak, coaching was instrumental in helping me to identify my unhelpful relationship patterns and transform how I approach romantic partnerships.

If there is an area of your life that you would like to change or a dream that you're ready to pursue, consider giving yourself the gift of working with a coach to accelerate that process.

About Holistic Coaching

Holistic coaching takes the whole person into account: body, mind, emotions, spirit, relationships and environment. It recognizes that all of the dimensions of our lives weave together to create our reality. By addressing all of these aspects in their pursuit of goals, clients move towards holistic wellness.

10 Guiding Principles of Holistic Coaching:

(From Beverly Sartain, Director of The Holistic Coach Training Institute)

1. Transformation happens on the mental, emotional, spiritual and physical levels, taking the whole person into consideration.

2. Holistic Coaching believes that everything rests in a web of interconnectedness.

3. Holistic Coaching focuses on supporting people in moving from coping to healing to thriving.

4. Healing happens in a loving and supportive environment not through judgment, shame or guilt.

5. Holistic Coaching is about making changes from the inside out.

6. The overall goal of Holistic Coaching is to create well-being and fulfillment in all areas of life that are important to you.

7. Holistic Coaching offers the opportunity for you to create love, safety and belonging for yourself.

8. Change, healing, transformation are a process not an event.

9. Holistic Coaching helps increase awareness of mind, body and spirit.

10. Holistic Coaching is about finding the tools and techniques that you can enjoy and embody consistently.

Is Coaching The Right Approach For You?

If you are experiencing clinical depression, anxiety, PTSD or other mental health challenges, we always recommend starting with therapy, which is better suited for offering coping strategies and other tools for managing and healing these types of conditions.

While both therapy and coaching can be wonderful tools for increasing personal growth and thriving, coaching tends to be more plan and action oriented than therapy. Often, coaching is a great choice for people who have already developed self-awareness and found stability through working with a therapist, and are ready to take action towards finding more joy, fulfillment and purpose in their lives.
