policies

Inner Balance Counseling offers short or long-term psychotherapy or coaching sessions depending on your needs. Individual, couples, family, and group modalities are offered.

Counseling or coaching sessions begin on the hour and last 50 minutes. Longer sessions may be available if requested in advance at a pro-rated fee. Counseling sessions are also available via our HIPAAA compliant telehealth platform at our regular hourly session fee for clients who cannot attend sessions in person. Arrangements for Skype sessions must be made prior to your regularly scheduled session.

Your appointment time is reserved for you. If you are late to an appointment the session will end on time and not run over into the next person’s session. If you miss a session without canceling, or cancel with less than twenty-four (24) hours notice, you will be billed for that session.

billing & payments

Individual counseling sessions at Inner Balance Counseling range from $135 -$175 per session, and couples sessions range from $175-200 per session. Payment is due at the time services are rendered.

hoping to use insurance?

Though Inner Balance does not work directly with insurance providers, you have the option to file for out of network benefits. So, how does this process work?

First, you will need to determine if you have out-of-network coverage. You can do this by contacting your insurance provider and asking whether or not you have mental health coverage. It may also be helpful to inquire about the number of sessions your out-of-network benefits will cover and also the typical cost per therapy session.

If you decide to file for out-of-network benefits, you will pay your therapist directly, and she will provide you with a receipt, as well as a Superbill, to file with your insurance provider. You will then be reimbursed by your insurance provider. Most clients submit their Superbills after every 5th session.

It is also important to remember that in order to file, you must receive a diagnosis. This diagnosis is recorded in your permanent medical record and can potentially affect premium rates. Additionally, most insurance companies require highly sensitive, personal information, which may pose a threat to your confidentiality and privacy. For these reasons, Inner Balance operates as a self-pay therapy practice, and we try to be as respectful of financial constraints as possible.
